There is good news for people living in the country's financial capital Mumbai. Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray has said that shops, malls, multiplexes, and eateries will remain open in Mumbai for 24×7. Thackeray said that initially they will be operated on experimental basis. It will be implemented from 26-27 January. He said the decision was taken yesterday in a meeting with the Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) and police officials.

Aditya Thackeray had a meeting with BMC Commissioner and Mumbai Police Commissioner. Several other representatives of malls, multiplexes and restaurants were also present at the meeting. More than 20 such establishments have been allowed by BMC and Mumbai Police, which can now keep malls and multiplexes open for 24 hours.

It is being told that more than 20 establishments have shown interest in opening malls, restaurants and multiplexes for the entire 24 hours and they are willing to follow all the procedures related to it. BMC Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi said on Friday that the Maharashtra government had already issued a proposal regarding this. Now BMC has allowed malls and hotels to remain open for 24×7.
