Former finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has received a major setback from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has refused to grant Chidambaram anticipatory bail. Shocking Chidambaram, the Supreme Court has dismissed his anticipatory bail plea in the Money Laundring  case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) can now take Chidambaram into custody for questioning after the anticipatory bail was rejected from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court says that the ED can interrogate the former finance minister in custody.

Today, CBI custody of Chidambaram is also ending. CBI remand in bribery case is scheduled for hearing today. The Supreme Court is scheduled to pronounce judgment on his petition challenging a decision of the Delhi High Court by Chidambaram today.

His wife reached the Supreme Court to hear the verdict on P Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea. Chidambaram's wife is present in the court room. Senior Supreme Court lawyer Kapil Sibal has also reached the court.

Earlier, the trial court had reserved its verdict on Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea in the case filed by CBI and ED. Justice R.C. in Supreme Court A bench of Bhanumathi and Justice AS Bopanna reserved a decision on August 29 on the plea of ​​Chidambaram in the ED case. Keeping the order, the bench had said that it would decide on the question whether to see the documents presented before it by the ED under seal cover. It was the apex court that ordered the ED to produce the documents under seal cover.
