Although the company launched XUV300 with a manual gearbox-option only, it is in the process of providing the compact SUV an automatic transmission as well. This is proven by the new spy-pictures available online. Several reports are also claiming that the company might introduce the automatic variant of XUV300 by the next month.

Under the hood, XUV300 offers a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel one. The petrol motor produces 110 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque, while the diesel power train churns out 115 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox.

AMT gearbox on board the XUV300 is expected to be sourced from Magnetti-Marelli. The same company which also supplies AMT units to Maruti cars. As per sources, the launch of the AMT variant is a temporary solution. Mahindra plans to offer a conventional automatic gearbox with XUV300 from 2020.

Engine options will remain the same. The 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine offers 110 PS power at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm while the diesel engine belts out 115 PS power at 3,750 rpm and 300 Nm torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. The XUV300 is powered by a 1.5 turbocharged diesel motor which makes 117PS at 3,750rpm and puts out 300Nm of torque between 1,500 to 2,500rpm. This is the same as the Marazzo's engine, but has been slightly detuned and a eVGT has been added. The petrol is a turbochared version of the 1.2 litre unit from the KUV100. This three-cylinder unit makes 112PS and 200 Nm. Both come with a six-speed manual.
