Mahatma Gandhi had Doubts on Jawaharlal Nehru’s Credibility: Subramanian Swamy

Mahatma Gandhi doubted the credibility of Jawaharlal Nehru. He feared that Jawaharlal Nehru might revolt if the Congress was not made the president and India's dream of independence would not be fulfilled. Therefore in the year 1946, 15 of the 16 state Congress committees to elect Congress President, Nehru became Congress President even after 15 presidents did not support Nehru. Acharya Kripalani was the only person who supported Nehru. These things were told by senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy.

Swami was releasing the book 'Bose ya Gandhi Kisne Dilai Azadi' translated into Hindi by retired Major General Dr GD Bakshi at Chelmsford Club. The book has been translated into Hindi by Ashita V. Dadhich.

On this occasion, the BJP leader said that former Prime Minister Morarji Desai had told him that Gandhi suspected that Nehru had met with the British. If he is not made the president, there will be rebellion. After 1947, Gandhi began to feel that Nehru was not obeying his words. Mahatma Gandhi then called Sardar Patel and said that he would divide the Congress into two. One part will go to Patel and the other to Nehru.

At the ceremony, Rajya Sabha member from Bharatiya Janata Party Subramanian Swamy said that if Gandhiji were alive, he would have done so. GD Bakshi has also expressed displeasure over not inviting ex-soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj this year in the Republic Day program. Demanded Subhash's statue near India Gate and gave him Bharat Ratna.
