If anyone will do anything in the name of April Fool rumor, false message or cause panic among the people, then action will be taken against the person under the Cybercrime Act. Maharashtra government gave this warning on Tuesday.

According to the Maharashtra government, the police will monitor social media handles. On Monday, the Mumbai Police registered a case against a man who put a fake message on WhatsApp in a group that the Army has been deployed in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, "Every year on April 1, people prank friends and relatives. Avoid doing this year. The entire country, including Maharashtra, is fighting a war against the corona virus. False messages in the name of April Fool, rumors may cause panic among people. Therefore, it should not be done. If anyone does this, the police will take strict action against him under the Cybercrime Act. In such a situation, I appeal to everyone to cooperate.

On Monday, the Mumbai police registered a case against a person named Sohail, he is accused of sending a rumored message to the Mumbai Ekta WhatsApp group. In that fake message it was written, "The situation in Mumbai's Nal Bazaar, Bhendi Bazaar, Dongri, Madanpura, Kalapani, Saat Rasta areas is uncontrollable, so the army has been called."

This person named Sohail Salim Punjabi was traced from the Peruvian lane of Pathan Wadi. A case was registered against him under 188,505 (1), 269 of the IPC and section 54,56 of the DM Act. Mumbai Police's DCP Zone 1 Sangram Singh Nishandar said, "I appeal to the people not to forward WhatsApp messages. Only read the instructions and information given by the government and reliable media."
