Two trains will leave from Bengaluru on Monday for the return of workers and others trapped in the lockdown implemented due to Corona virus. At the same time, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has said that the free bus service for returning stranded workers to their ancestral places within the state has been extended for two days.
The government said in a statement that one train will go to Jaipur while the other train will go to Patna. Food and water arrangements for the passengers have been made before the commencement of the journey. The statement said that two trains left for Patna on Sunday while one each left for Jharkhand and Bhubaneswar. There were a total of 4,800 people in those four trains.
The period of free bus service has been extended for two days to help the workers and others of the state trapped inside Karnataka. The Chief Minister had announced on Sunday that this bus service would be available for three days till Tuesday.
Now, he has announced that the service will continue till Thursday. He said in a statement that workers and people should not congregate at bus stands. Around thirty thousand people went to their homes on Sunday by 951 buses of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation. The statement said that around 1500 people left for their homes in 50 buses on Monday.
