There is a big reason behind re-airing the old shows of the channels. Shooting of TV shows has been closed since March 19 after the corona virus outbreak before the lockdown. In such a situation, TV channels have nothing new to show, TV shows are airing back their old and famous shows.
It is worth noting that Doordarshan was the first to re-air the old famous shows in a lockdown environment. "Ramayana' and B.R. Chopra's 'Mahabharata' was aired. Both shows are getting very good TRPs at the moment. After this, shows like 'Shaktimaan' and 'Dekh Bhai Dekh' were telecast on Doordarshan itself.
