A similar case has emerged from Palamghar in Maharashtra. Where people who had come out to go to their village were coming back due to the closure of the border, then many people lost their lives in the road accident.
Four people were severely crushed by a high-speed tempo near the national highway Virar in Vasai area of Palamghar district, killing them on the spot, while injuring three. This tragic accident happened on Saturday morning
Actually, after the lockdown in Mumbai, these people had left on foot to go to their village in Gujarat. On their way to Gujarat, they were sent back due to the border being closed. During this, while coming back towards Vasai in Palamghar district, a high speed tempo hit the tempo and four people died on the spot.
Due to the lockdown, the poor are worried about food and shelter. The workers have left the cities where they used to work and have walked towards the village by foot. At the same time, the laborers who had no food and nowhere to stay due to the closure of work, they are leaving towards their village due to this fear. In such a situation, there is a possibility of something untoward on the way.
The governments of many states are worried about the exodus of laborers and are also appealing to provide basic facilities to their citizens who have stayed in other states. In such a situation, the Maharashtra government should provide basic facilities to the migrating people after finding out about them, so that people avoid going to the village by foot.
