Lockdown 4.0: Allowed Economic Activity in Entire Country Except Containment Zone

The central government has extended the lockdown to 31 May to prevent the corona from spreading.  In lockdown-four, all other economic activities have been allowed except the Containment Zone.  But the ban on malls, cinema halls, restaurants, hotels, metro, rail and air services will continue as before.  This time the definition of red, orange and green zones will remain the same, but the responsibility of deciding the area under it has been assigned to the states.

In the guidelines issued for the lockdown-four, the Ministry of Home Affairs has made it very clear that all the activities except the specially restricted activities will be completely exempted.  But no activity will be allowed in the Containment Zone except for essential services.  However, even outside the Containment Zone, the State Governments may prohibit certain other activities on the basis of assessment of the ground situation.

The Home Ministry has made it clear that the curfew will continue during the lockdown-four from seven in the evening to seven in the morning and no one will be allowed to move out except for essential services.  Metro, airplanes and rail will not run as before, but special trains and air services will continue to take migrant laborers and other stranded people from one place to another.  At the same time, schools, colleges and other educational institutions, hotels, restaurants, bars, cinema halls, malls etc. will remain closed.
