Ingredients:

375g thick sour curd

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

Salt as required

1 cup mustard oil

1/2 teaspoon celery

1 tbsp garlic

2 green chilies

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Water as required

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

1 pinch Asafoetida (Hing)

170 grams gram flour

3 medium onions

1 tbsp ginger

1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

2 dry red chilies

10 leaves curry leaves

How to make Punjabi Kadhi recipe:

 Step 1:

To prepare onion pakoras for Kadhi, take 1 cup gram flour and add celery, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt as per your taste.

 Step 2:

Slice the onion and mix it into the mixture. Mix the ingredients together, and set aside for about 30 minutes. Add water to make a thick batter.

 Step 3:

Take a deep frying pan, add oil and heat it on medium heat. Fry pakoras until it turns golden brown

 Step 4:

Take out pakoras on tissue paper.

 Step 5:

To prepare the yogurt mixture, whisk 375 grams of curd until smooth. Add 40 grams of gram flour, red chili powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt as required. Beat all the ingredients well. Add 3 cups of water, and mix well.

 Step 6:

To prepare Punjabi Kadhi, take a large pan and add 2 tablespoons mustard oil to it. Add cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds, fry well.

 Step 7:

Now add a pinch of asafoetida to the mixture and allow the seeds to burst. In a bowl chop the onion, ginger, garlic.

 Step 8:

Add 1/3 cup chopped onion to the pan and shake for a while. Then, add chopped ginger, green chilies. Add curry leaves and dry red chilies and stir well for a while.

 Step 9:

Pour the yogurt mixture into the pan. Mix the ingredients well and allow the kadhi to boil for about 15 minutes. Reduce the heat and let it boil until it thickens.

 Step 10:

Now, add the onion pakoras to the kadhi and mix well. Cover it and soak the pakoras well in the kadhi. Sprinkle some garam masala powder and serve hot.
