To combat the corona outbreak, the Ministry of Science and Technology has created a new disinfection technology that is totally efficient in minimizing the air infection of the coronavirus. It is being applied in train coaches, AC buses, and other closed premises.

Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge), said on Monday that the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) wrote a letter to the Election Commission for the assembly elections to be held in five states during a meeting in closed premises with limited capacity for the application of technology.

The action comes after the commission imposed a temporary ban on demonstrations and roadshows in the aftermath of the outbreak. According to him, the antiviral technology has been successfully tested in railway coaches, air-conditioned buses, and Parliament House, and is now being made available to the entire public. Singh stated that the Ministry's Ultraviolet-C technology, developed via CSIR-CSIO (Central Scientific Instruments Organization), is totally successful in lowering coronavirus air infection and will continue to be important in post-corona times.
