Congress leader G Rathikumar on Wednesday joined hands with the Communist Party of Marxists. Rathikumar is a former General Secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee. He officially announced it. Rathikumar sent his resignation to the President of KPCC. Rathikumar was working for the party for the last 40 years. He has also mentioned in his resignation that he had tried to talk to KPCC President K Sudhakaran related to some issues of the organization but it could not happen. After his resignation, he met CPM leaders at the AKG Centre. This center is the office of CPM in the state. Here he told the media that in future he would work closely with CPM.
Earlier, a senior Kerala Congress leader KP Anil Kumar on Tuesday resigned from the party and joined the ruling party CPM. In fact, he was suspended from the party for publicly criticizing the party leadership of the state.
Announcing his decision in Thiruvananthapuram, former state Congress Committee general secretary KP Anil Kumar said that most of the current office bearers of the state unit treated him in an authoritarian manner. He also made some other serious allegations against State Congress President K Sudhakaran.
The Congress committee chief said that Kumar was expelled from the party after which he described the CPM as a 'waste bin' which is gathering disgruntled leaders. Let us inform that another expelled leader from Congress, PS Prashant had joined the CPM. The state unit of the Congress party was in turmoil after the new leadership and the situation worsened after the announcement of district Congress presidents on August 28.
