Two newly elected MLAs were sworn in on the first day of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly session on Thursday. Rita Chaudhary (Mandawa) and Narayan Beniwal (Khivansar) were sworn in on the first day of a two-day special session called to discuss the constitution. Chaudhary is an MLA from Congress and from Beniwal is from National Democratic Party. They have recently won the assembly by-elections in the state. The Rajasthan assembly session has started from Thursday. The session is expected to last three to four days.
On the first day of the session, Thursday there was a special discussion on the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. Actually, the Constitution of India was adopted on 26 November 1949. A digital museum on a democratic visit to Rajasthan was inaugurated. Legislative work of the Legislative Assembly will begin from Friday.
The budget session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly lasted for 21 days. During the budget session, there have been 20 MLAs who are completely silent. These MLAs neither asked the starred question nor the un-starred question. The 200-member assembly currently has 198 MLAs. There are 20 MLAs who did not ask a single question, while during the budget session each MLA can ask 100 questions. In this, 40 starred and 60 un-starred questions can be asked. Only 13 MLAs met the quota in question in the budget session. These include eight from BJP and one from Congress, three Independents and one BSP MLA. During the assembly session, BJP MLA Siddhi Kumari and Congress MLA Hemaram Chaudhary appeared in the majority house.
According to the rules and procedure of the Legislative Assembly, each MLA can ask 100 questions. This time those who fulfill this quota include Shankar Singh Rawat, Vasudev Devnani, Santosh Devi, Sanjay Sharma, Hamir Singh Dhayal, Manjeet Dharampal Chaudhary, Dharmanarayan Joshi, Omprakash Hoodla, Baljit Yadav, Girdhari Lal and Omprakash Joshi.
