Delhi High Court on Friday Refused to Hear Kamra’s Petition

Comedian Kunal Kamra from the Delhi High Court has received a setback. The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to hear Kamra's plea. Kunal Kamra filed a petition challenging the ban on traveling on behalf of IndiGo, Vistara and other airlines.

Kunal Kamra has been banned by five airlines for heckling a TV channel editor on an IndiGo flight in January. The ban followed a directive by the aviation ministry that drew much criticism. Justice Naveen Chawla disagreed with Kamra's behavior, saying such conduct could not be allowed in the aircraft.

At the same time, the court has also rejected Kamra's oral request to give interim instructions to allow him to travel with any airlines. After the court denied the trial, Kamra's lawyers sought permission to withdraw the petition and move the Appellate Authority against the ban imposed by Indigo. Mr Kamra has sent a legal notice to IndiGo, demanding a public apology, Rs 25 lakh for "causing mental pain and agony," Delhi High Court on Tuesday gave time to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to seek instructions on travel ban imposed on comedian Kunal Kamra.
