The way has been cleared for the release of Abdullah Azam Khan, son of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. Bail has been approved in 43 cases registered against him. Abdullah Azam is lodged in Sitapur jail with his father Azam Khan for nearly 23 months. It is being told that he has got bail in all the cases from the Rampur court. By this afternoon, only if the bailable papers reach the jail, then their bail will be granted today. Further, with the news of bail, the discussion of Abdullah Azam contesting the elections has also intensified.
Let us tell you that the news of Abdullah Azam's bail has come at a time when just one month is left for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, Abdullah might appear on the political front of the party along with elections in the absence of his father. Previously, Abdullah Azam had contested from Suar Tanda on a Samajwadi Party ticket in the 2017 assembly elections. He won this election by defeating the Congress candidate. Azam Khan’s case is going to be heard on February 2.
In view of this, the Uttar Pradesh government has applied in the High Court to cancel the bail granted against Azam Khan in dozens of criminal cases including Jauhar University in Rampur. The matter will be heard in the High Court on February 2. The court has summoned a reply from Azam Khan in this regard. Azam Khan has got bail in most of the criminal cases. After which it was believed that Azam can be released before the UP Legislative Assembly elections, but this application of the UP government might add to Azam Khan’s difficulties.
