Nirbhaya Convicts: The four convicts of the Nirbhaya case are to be hanged in Tihar Jail on February 1 at 6 am. To avoid being hanged, all four convicts have manipulated different laws. However, after the President rejected the mercy petition and the curative petition was rejected by the Supreme Court, the culprits now does not have much choice. The Center Government has also appealed in the Supreme Court by petitioning that after the mercy petition is dismissed, the culprits should be allowed to be hanged. In such a situation, possibly on 1 February all the four accused can be hanged.
Every prisoner is been asked their last wish before being hanged. According to media reports, the Tihar jail administration has asked the four accused for their last wish, on which the four accused were silent and they did not responded. It is being told that the jail administration had asked them their wishes related to meeting the family for the last time or giving their property to someone, but none of the four responded.
The death warrant of the four was issued by the Patiala House Court in Delhi on January 22. The four convicts were to be hanged at 7 am. However, due to legal claims, the Patiala House Court had to issue a new death warrant. Under this, the four convicts will be hanged at 6 am on 1 February 2020.
Four accused Vinay Sharma, Mukesh Singh, Pawan Gupta and Akshay Kumar Singh will be hanged by the apex court in the case of gang-rape of Nirbhaya and subsequent heinous murder. In this case, the police had accused 6 miscreants, one of them was relieved, while one accused committed suicide by hanging himself in jail during a court hearing.
