Two persons were killed and 17 others reported missing when a landslide toppled residential buildings in China's north Shanxi province.

Hundreds of police, firefighters and Medical Personnel joined rescue efforts on Saturday after a landslide in northern China knocked down several buildings, killing two people and leaving 17 others Missing.

The landslide hit two residential buildings and a house in the township of Zaoling in Linfen city on Friday, state-run China Daily quoted officials as saying on Saturday.

The landslide hit a village in Friday and buried a part of a local hospital, a financial firm building, and a small bath facility.

So far, 17 people have been evacuated from the debris but two of them were found dead, local officials said. The rescuers are searching for the missing people.

Working through Friday night, firefighters pulled several children out from under structures that had given way. CCTV showed a firefighter lifting up a 9-year-old boy who was nearly crushed by a sofa. The rescue workers pulled the boy onto a soft surface and told him, "Don't worry, everything will be OK soon."

More than 600 people, including public security officers, armed police, emergency rescue, and medical staff have taken part in the rescue.

The search and rescue operation on the site is underway. It involves five firefighter units, 46 vehicles, 247 firefighters, 12 rescue dogs, 26 experts specializing in rescue works in hard-to-get areas and medics.

Natural Disaster is uncontrollable but it harm allot where it can injured and killed many and also create so much loss and also affect our surrounding.
