Indian women's hockey team forward Lalremsiami, an individual from the side which won FIH Women's Series Finals in Hiroshima as of late, was gotten at her town in Kolasib area on Tuesday.

Lalremsiami lost her dad due to heart attack on Friday however remained with her group to play semi-last and last on June 23 against Japan. She disclosed to her mentor that she needs to play and make her dad pleased.

"Just before the game I got the news that my father died but I still played & we became Champions. I believe my father will be proud of my achievement, wherever he is," Lalremsiami said.

Kiren Rijiju, Union Sports Minister adulated her exertion of continue playing in the competition even in the wake of losing her dad, on Twitter.

"Indian women's hockey player Lalremsiami's dad lapsed when India was to play a critical elimination round at Hiroshima that would decide whether India's Olympics dream would be alive. She told mentor, 'I want to make my father proud. I want to stay, play and make sure India qualifies," the Sports Minister had tweeted.

A triumphant Indian group arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday after to winning the FIH Women's Series Finals against Japan. The group had defeated the competition hosts Japan 3-1. Captain Rani Rampal was granted the best player in the competition.

PM Narendra Modi additionally commended the marvelous triumph of Indian women's hockey group in the FIH Series Finals.
