JAIPUR: Kota of Rajasthan, known as a coaching hub in the country, has not stopped the suicide of coaching students. In view of the increasing incidents of suicide of students at the central and state government level, a lot of efforts were made. But the suicides could not be stopped. A student committed suicide late Monday evening in Kota. Shweta, a student who committed suicide, was from Madhubani in Bihar. She was staying with her mother in Mahavir Nagar, Kota, with a rented room.

Shweta was preparing for the medical entrance exam at Allen Coaching Institute here. When her mother Sita Devi went to the market on Monday evening, she committed suicide by hanging herself from behind. When mother came back, Shweta got hanged from the fan by hanging the noose. Hearing the crying of the mother, people came around and informed the police. Police reached the spot and took the body down and brought it to the hospital. Where the dead body was handed over to the family on Tuesday. Shweta's mother said that she had no tension. Police is currently investigating why he committed suicide.

In the last eight months, 17 students have committed suicide in Kota. In view of the increasing incidence of suicide of coaching students here, a lot of efforts have been made at the Central and State Government levels. On the instructions of the then Governor Kalyan Singh and the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the officials of Kota District Collector and Education Department had held a meeting of the managers and guardians of the coaching institutes and discussed about not putting mental pressure to create a positive environment for the children.
