When Lord Parashuram came to know about this incident, he killed Sahastrabahu of his own face. He also gave his new life to his father. After this, Lord Parashuram requested his mother Renuka to come out of the lake. Then he said that he will now live in this lake forever, but once a year he will definitely meet Lord Parashurama. After this, the lake became known as the mother of Lord Parashuram. It is said that at the same time, the shape of Lake Renuka also fell in the shape of a woman.

There is a five-day fair here from Dasami to Purnima on the Shukla side of the Kartik month. It is believed that during this time Lord Parasurama came to meet his mother, Shri Renuka Ji. A fair Shobha Yatra is also organized here for this. Lakhs of devotees bathe in the sacred water of the lake. Every year a fair is organized here in which the long life of the mother and son is sought.
