Kia Motors has released a new teaser of its upcoming subcompact SUV Sonet. In this, the company has shown glimpses of the front of the Kia Sonet. It shows the aggressive front styling of the SUV, which is similar to the model offered at the Auto Expo. The world debut of the Sonet SUV is going to be on 7 August.
The final model of the Kia Sonnet (to be launched on the market) will feature the company's signature 'Tiger Nose' grille, silver skid plates, sporty bumpers, LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights on the front. The sides will feature black-out pillars, black plastic cladding, sloping rooflines and bold shoulder creases. The SUV will have wrap-around tail lamps at the rear, which are connected by a thin reflector strip. The Kia logo is given below it. The SUV will come with a sharp rear windscreen, roof rails, roof-mounted lip spoilers, rear wipers and rear-set antennas.
Kia Motors has said that many segment-first features will be available on the Sonnet (the first in the segment's car). The company has not yet revealed its official feature list. However, it is expected to feature features such as a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium Bose sound system, Sunroof and Kia's UVO car-connected technology, automatic climate control and wireless charging.
The Kia sonnet will come with several engine-gearbox combinations. It will have three engine options, including 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-liter GDI turbo-petrol engines. They will be offered with manual, dual-clutch automatic and torque-converter automatic gearbox options.
