The grandeur of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham will be amazing across the country. The security system will also be hi-tech. After the transfer of land to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, the exercise to strengthen the security system has intensified. The barrier of the security watchtower in the Dham has been removed with the transfer of land.
The demolition work of the Police Control Room built on the land acquired by the Sunni Waqf Board by the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust is going on at a brisk pace. After this, the largest security watchtower will be constructed on this land. The watchtower to be built in 17 hundred square feet will be the tallest building in this complex.
To strengthen the security system of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, equipment will be purchased from Rs 5.43 crore. These include 31 door frame metal detectors, 47 handheld metal detectors, 11 X-ray baggage scanners, and 19 women search booths. In the fifth meeting of the Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Council, a proposal for the allocation of funds for security equipment was prepared.
The Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex has been declared a very sensitive area from the point of view of security. After 1992, a standing committee was constituted regarding the security of this complex. Security plans were revised as the campus grew. The complex has a bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and fire station as well as hydraulic gates.
The budget for security equipment was not included in the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project. There is a three-tier security cordon in the Kashi Vishwanath temple area. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple remains under the supervision of CRPF. The Gyanvapi Mosque located near the temple is also monitored by the CRPF. The outer security cordon of the temple and mosque is of police and PAC personnel. More than 50 high-resolution CCTV cameras are used to monitor the temple and mosque every step of the way.
Chief Executive Officer Sunil Kumar Verma said that DFMD and women search booths will be installed at all the entrances of Dham. X-ray baggage scanners will be installed at the entrance of the pilgrimage facility. The decision was taken after discussion with the High Power Safety Committee regarding the number of devices and how many would be.
