Kartarpur Corridor: Pak Government will not Charge anything on the Inaugration day from Pilgrims

Pakistan is adamant on charging a $ 20 (about Rs 1400) service fee from passengers. Pakistan can earn up to 3 million dollars every month from Kartarpur corridor.

After criticism from the Pakistan government over the decision to collect fees from pilgrims coming to Kartarpur, PM Imran Khan has now announced a one-day exemption. He has said that no fee will be charged from the devotees on the inauguration day and 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Pakistan is adamant on charging a $ 20 (about Rs 1400) service fee from passengers. Pakistan can earn up to 3 million dollars every month from Kartarpur corridor.

Apart from this, the Government of Pakistan has abolished the mandatory passport for Sikhs coming for pilgrimage from India to Kartarpur. Pakistan PM has said that passport is not necessary, only a valid ID will work. Also, pilgrims will not even have to register 10 days in advance. Let us tell you that the Kartarpur Corridor will be inaugurated on 9 November.

Pakistan has also sent an invitation to the Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu for this, which he has accepted. On November 12, the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak will be celebrated.

Significantly, the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, spent 18 years of his life in Kartarpur Sahib. Sri Kartapur Sahib Gurdwara is considered to be the first Gurdwara whose foundation was laid by Guru Nanak Dev. However it was later washed away due to flooding in the Ravi river. After this, the present Gurudwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
