Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa may resign from his post on Sunday. Recently, he had announced that on the completion of two years of his government on July 25, he would follow the instructions of the party's top leadership. Meanwhile, the name of Union Coal, Mining, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi and Mining Minister and industrialist MR Nirani in the state government is going ahead as his successor. However, Joshi said that the top leadership has not spoken to him in this regard so far, while Nirani says that whatever order the party gives, he will follow it.

Yediyurappa may resign on Sunday

The 58-year-old Joshi, who has been MP from Dharwad since 2004, said no one has spoken to him about Yediyurappa's successor. It is only the media that is discussing this time. At the same time, he said that he is unaware that someone has even asked Yediyurappa to resign from his post.

He also refused to comment on the threats from Lingayat community saints over Yediyurappa's removal. He has also been the President of the Karnataka State Unit from July 2012 to January 2016.

No lobbying for CM's post will follow the party's order: Nirani

Nirani, a three-time MLA and owner of MRN Group, has denied lobbying for the CM's post. He said that he is a common worker of the party and it is his duty to follow the instructions of the party. Also said that BJP is a disciplined party and like other parties, lobbying for posts does not work here. He said as of now there is no direction to remove Yediyurappa. He is our leader now and we all are with him. The top leadership of the party will make the decision for the post of CM and we will all follow it.

He had visited Delhi only a few days ago and he had termed his visit a success. He said that he did not lobby for any position in life. Whatever responsibility the party gives, I will fulfill it. He said that not only he but all 120 MLAs of the party have the qualification to become the Chief Minister. Speculations of him being made CM have intensified after visiting the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

Yediyurappa is a big name in Karnataka politics. Yediyurappa's long political career began as Purasabha President at Shikaripura. First elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1983 from Shikaripura and won eight times from there. This is his fourth term as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
