Karan Johar is a big name in the Hindi film industry today. He has given many hit films one after the other, but Karan feels that the 2001 film 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' is a slap in his face.
According to IANS, Karan said, 'I thought I was making the biggest film of Hindi cinema since' Mughal-E-Azam 'till Aamir Khan's film' Lagaan' and Farhan Akhtar's 'Dil Chahta Hai', Karan Johar's first and main goal was to include a big star cast in the film
He said, 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' was the single biggest slap on my face and I was also confronted with reality. The film was based on family background. The film had big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles along with Rani Mukerji who also played a small role in it.
Karan revealed about the film in a special show. He said that he was surprised by the poor response the film received in terms of reviews and awards.
