Kanpur's air quality index stood at 453 on Tuesday. The air quality index of Lucknow stood at 416. Both these cities were the most polluted cities in the country on Tuesday. Delhi stood at 13th position with an air quality index of 324.
On Tuesday, there was some decrease in the increasing pollution in the city due to fog filtering due to gusty sun and wind speed, but Lucknow remained in the severe category in the Air Quality Index (AQI). According to CPCB, on Tuesday, Lucknow was the second most polluted city in the country with 416 AQIs. Kanpur (453) came in first, while Patna (414) came in third. Lucknow's AQI was recorded 435 on Monday. According to meteorologists, the next two days will reduce pollution levels due to increased sunlight and increased wind speed.

Talking about UP, 7 cities are included in the 10 most polluted cities in the country. These include Muzaffarnagar (385), Noida (351), Moradabad (350), Ghaziabad (346), Greater Noida (340) besides Lucknow and Kanpur. Other cities include Patna (414), capital of Bihar, Panipat (371) and Jind (344) in Haryana.
