'Thalaivi', the upcoming multilingual film based on the life of late leader Jayalalithaa, was directed by A. L. Vijay, while Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R. is the producer of the film. In it, Jayalalithaa's journey from the film industry to the field of politics has been shown.

Kangana Ranaut said in an interview to Pinkvilla about the release of the film on the OTT platform, 'It depends. For example, a movie like 'Thalaivi' cannot be released on a digital platform, as it is a large-scale film. Movies like 'Manikarnika' also cannot be digitally released, but films like 'Panga' and 'Judgmental Hai Kya' can be released on digital platform. The way they have been produced is quite digital friendly. They can recover huge cost only through digital medium. Therefore, it depends.'
