There are already 12 Kamov-31 helicopters in the Indian Navy's fleet. Significantly, despite the Lok Sabha elections, the Narendra Modi government is not allowing the army's modernization plans to be affected. The meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Defense Acquisition Council and Security in connection with Defense Acquisition is going on continuously for the Protection of the country's security. These helicopters will be extremely lightweight and easier to control than the rest of the helicopters. It is very easy to destroy enemy warheads.

In fact, India wants to deploy Kamov helicopters in place of the army of its oldest Cheetah and Chetak helicopters. As a result, during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia in December 2015, the agreement between the two governments on the purchase of Kamov-31 helicopters was made. These have made considerable changes in terms of the needs of Indian forces.
