BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was holding a rally in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), has been detained by Kolkata police. The rally was scheduled to begin at Tollygunge Phari in Kolkata. As soon as the BJP leaders started the rally, the Kolkata Police took all the leaders into custody. Kailash Vijayvargiya and Mukul Roy were taking out 'Abhinandan Yatra' in support of CAA and for this, they did not even take permission from the police. That is why the police detained him.

According to the police, the BJP leaders allegedly wanted to organize the march without the permission of the police after which they were taken into police custody. BJP Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya was detained by Kolkata Police during his 'Abhinandan Yatra' in support of CAA in South Kolkata. Vijayvargiya along with Mukul Roy was participating in the rally being held here in support of CAA.
