Senior Most Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice NV Ramanna, paid tribute to Justice Laxmanan, a former Supreme Court judge and former Chairman of the Law Commission, stating the independence of the judiciary and the merits of the judges. In the condolence meeting of Justice Laxmanan, Justice Ramanna said that the judge has to do his work with fairness, cleanliness and self-respect despite many pressure, influence and reprehension. These are the qualities of a true judge.
Justice Ramanna said that the worship of Lord Rama is not only because he has been successful in every campaign and war, but also because he is perfect, because he remains dignified and situated in every odd situation of life. He did not let justice and social dignity break.
Our moral values and our behavior are our greatest capital and heritage
He said that when we are sitting on the post of justices, it is important that when, where, what kind of circumstances came before us and then why, what and how we reacted. It does not matter what you have. Our moral values and our behavior are our greatest capital and heritage. Justice Lakshmanan was also a living example of this.
Independence and impartiality are the basis of that belief
Justice Ramanna said that the people have a deep faith and belief in it, an outstanding source of respect and dignity of the judiciary. Its independence and impartiality are the basis of that belief. The coming generations will remember Justice Laxmanan on the basis of these qualities and this is why people’s faith in the judiciary will be strengthened.
