Unidentified miscreants killed a 55-year-old journalist by slitting his throat near Dubouli village in Kushinagar district on Thursday morning, police said. The victim, Radheyshyam Sharma, was associated with a local Hindi newspaper, they said. Sharma, a resident of Siktiya Tola in Hata area of ​​Kushinagar, also used to teach at a private school near his village, the police said.

The assailants stopped Sharma, who was on his motorcycle, near Dubouli village in the morning and slit his throat, they said.

Police are probing the matter and trying to ascertain the motive. Within two months, a second case of journalist's murder has come up in Uttar Pradesh. In August, a journalist and his brother were shot dead by some unknown people in Saharanpur.

The locals are very angry. People around said that Radheshyam left home to go to school in the morning. His school was close to the village. On the way, at around eight in the morning, he was strangled to death. According to the villagers, the police arrived an hour late despite giving information. Recently a businessman was murdered in this area. Which the police could not disclose yet.
