Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration has announced to start winter semester classes. On the other hand, the JNU Teachers Association (JNUTA) has decided that it will not take classes. Teachers have decided in their general body meeting that they will not take winter semester classes without completing all the academic activities of the previous monsoon semester.

Teachers have strongly condemned the attack on students and especially teachers in the university. Also, a review of the strong security system is demanded. JNU Students Union has also said that they will not register by paying new hostel fees. The university had the last date of registration since Friday. From Saturday, students will be able to register with late fees.

Teachers have decided that they will not participate in any academic activity. Also, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will not respond to the upcoming entrance exam of JNU. Will not make timetables nor participate in the rest of the meeting. The association says that unless the university administration tries to bring normal conditions in JNU, the teachers will not cooperate. There has been talk of removing the VC in the General Body meeting.

Apart from this, JNUTA has also decided that the executive of the association will try to get a judicial inquiry on the violence on 5 January. The association also questioned the inquiry committee set up by the administration.
