JioFiber Launches from Next Month, Cable-DTH Operators will Face Difficulties!

In September of 2016, Reliance Industries entered the telecom industry through Jio. After this, the war of price war broke out in the industry. The situation became such that many telecom companies had to consolidate their business. Now, after about three years, from September 5, Jio's broadband service 'Jio Giga Fiber' is going to start. Apart from broadband, many special services are being provided in this plan of an initial price of just Rs 700 per month. However, coming into this segment of Reliance can increase the difficulties of DTH and cable operators providing broadband service.

Reliance Jio plans to provide minimum 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps internet speed in broadband service. Apart from this, lifetime free phone calls, free HD TV and dish will be made available. These plans will start from Rs 700 monthly to Rs 10,000 monthly. Along with this, Jio has also offered unlimited international phone calls from the landline to the US and Canada at a monthly rental of Rs 500.

Reliance Jio has announced a minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps in broadband service. However, this speed will be further increased to 1 Gbps. According to experts in the telecom industry, due to the high-speed broadband service, other companies in the market will face a new challenge. Actually, in the cheapest plan of BSNL, users get a speed of 50Mbps. At the same time, users get a speed of 100Mbps in the top-end plan. Similarly, the speed of Airtel's V-fiber broadband service is 300Mbps.

Here let me tell you that on Monday, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani while addressing the Annual General Meeting said, "The minimum speed of Jio Giga Fiber in India will be 100 Mbps. We have plans to provide speeds up to 1 Gbps under this."

Similarly, by mid-2020, premium subscribers of Jio Giga Fiber will be able to watch the film on the day of its release. Jio has named it 'First Day First Show'. The multiplex may have to bear its big loss.

Reliance Jio is planning to connect at least one billion devices on its narrowband Internet of Things (NBIoT) platform. With this, the company can earn around Rs 20,000 crore annually. With its use, data generated from billions of smart sensors across the country will be collected reliably at the lowest cost. Ambani said, 'Jio's IoT platform will be available for commercial use from 1 January 2020. However, in this segment, Jio is expected to face other companies such as Tata Communications, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
