Jet Airways Crisis: Pilot-Engineer Joining Spice Jet on 30-50 Percent Less Salaries

Jet Airways' economic crisis has brought many problems for its employees. Its employees are forced to join SpiceJet at low salaries. Jet pilots and engineers have begun joining SpiceJet on 30-50 percent lower salary. SpiceJet is recruiting pilots-engineers these days and the company is recruiting Jet Airways workers to the company for 30-50% less salary. Let us tell you that Jet Airways is struggling for its existence due to debt and losses. The airline has canceled about 90 percent of the flights.

Industry sources said Jet pilots have been told that they can join on 25-30% less salary. At the same time, engineers have been told that they can join the company at 50 percent less salaries.

A senior industry source said, "Because of the fear of closure of the jet company, professionals are ready to work at a compensated salary. But the average salary in Jet Airways has always been better than the salary available in the industry.

Jet Airways employees are looking forward to improving the financial condition of their company. A senior aircraft maintenance engineer said that he has a proposal of salary package of 1.5 lakh to two lakh rupees per month, while currently, his CTC at Jet Airways is four lakh rupees per month. He said that this is a low salary and we are hoping that Jet Airways will get an investor and our salary will be safe.

An executive officer of SpiceJet said that the airline is offering the same pay scale, which is effective here.

A senior commander associated with Jet Airways said that the pilots who are 4-5 years old are going to the other airline because they are in trouble due to delays in pay in Jet. They said, 'They have taken home loan and there are many other expenses. In such a situation, they should be paid on time.. So far most senior pilots have remained with Jet Airways. They are not going to SpiceJet, Indigo or Air India, because they feel that changing the company can affect their seniority list and salary. They do not want to fill for 3-5 years of bonds. '

Senior pilots said that many co-pilots who did not have enough experience, they usually got salary of 2.9 lakh rupees per month in Jet Airways. They are now ready to join and work at less than two lakh rupees in the second airline.

Apart from Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Air India Express operate Boeing in the country only. Companies that operate Airbus without operating Boeing, they are reluctant to take these pilots and engineers, because it takes three to six months to provide training. They do not consider salary during this period as fruitful.
