The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained Rustom, a prominent Hajbul Mujahideen worker, who was involved in the murder of senior RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma, BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar. Chandrakant Sharma was killed by terrorists along with his bodyguard at Kishtwar Hospital on 9 April 2019. In this case, the name of Rustom is also included in the NIA's charge sheet.
Sources said that the murder of Chandrakant Sharma has been carried out by the Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar once again as part of the conspiracy to revive separatism and terrorism. The NIA has already arrested about five people involved in this murder case. Apart from this, the brother of a senior state Congress leader has also been questioned.
Let us tell you that the NIA had filed a chargesheet in the court in Kishtwar in the murder of the then BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar last week after one and a half years. The Parihar brothers were killed by Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Kishtwar on November 1, 2018. The main mastermind of the plot is Jahangir Saruri, who is currently absconding.
The NIA has told the court in its charge sheet that during the investigation it was found that the terrorists and overground workers belonging to the Hizbul Mujahideen were once again involved in the conspiracy to revive terrorism in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban. The terrorists want to make this entire region once again the bastion of terrorism and separatism. These terrorists not only killed the Parihar brothers but they have also been involved in Kishtwar and other terrorist incidents in the adjoining areas during the year 2019 as well. This entire conspiracy was hatched by Jehangir Saruri, the commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. All these terrorists and their overground workers were also looking for new ways to raise money, weapons and other equipment for the Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar range terrorist activities. They also looted weapons from the police and guarded bodyguards.
