He said that we are busy evacuating our people. The government said that it is constantly trying to bring out the people trapped in Afghanistan. The Foreign Minister said that after the Taliban's occupation, 15,000 people have contacted India for evacuation from Afghanistan. At the same time, he said that the promises made by the Taliban in Doha have not lived up to it. He also referred to the US-Taliban agreement in Doha.
At the end of his briefing, the External Affairs Minister said that India is currently following a wait and watch policy on anarchy in Afghanistan. Following his speech, all opposition parties unanimously congratulated the government on the government's position on the crisis in Afghanistan and commended Jaishankar for India's evacuation programme
