The Jaipur Police Commissionerate has taken a tough stand to prevent cybercrime through mobile phone connections and SIMs issued by fake names and addresses. Issuing an order on Tuesday, Additional Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash said that retailers and sub-retailer shopkeepers giving mobile connections of various mobile phone service providers in the city will have to keep the record of the customer safe for five years.

This includes records of daily sales of prepaid and postpaid mobile phone connections and SIM cards. In which the buyer's name, full permanent address, present address, identity card, and ID card. Apart from photocopies of his face will have to be kept safe by matching the photo of the signature.

The Additional Commissioner of Police has said in the orders that the shopkeepers will send a copy of the daily notice of sale of prepaid-postpaid cellular mobile connections to adipint.sec@gmail.com. Similarly, any customer coming to the shop to buy a mobile phone, SIM. Mobile in doubt will have to immediately report to the nearest police station. Similarly, this record has to be preserved for 5 years. Also, if needed, it will have to be made available to the investigating agencies of the Commissionerate of Police.
