ITF Decides to Postpone Fed Cup, Davis Cup until 2021 Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

The Fed Cup tennis final has been postponed to next year due to Corona-related challenges. The decision has been taken recently after many tennis players including world no.1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia found to be infected with coronavirus.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic has a major impact on Games events around the world. Almost all events around the world have either been postponed or canceled. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 was postponed for a year while Wimbledon had to be canceled for the first time after 80 years.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it has now been decided to postpone another event. The Fed Cup tennis final has been postponed to next year due to Corona-related challenges. The decision has been taken recently after many tennis players including world no.1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia found to be infected with the coronavirus.

The International Tennis Federation said that the women's team was to be at Budapest, Hungary from April 13 to 18 in the competition. Earlier, this years' tournament was scheduled to be held in April but later postponed due to the epidemic.

India's Davis Cup match postponed:

India's Davis Cup match against Finland was postponed until 2021 as the International Tennis Federation postponed all matches, including the Davis Cup finals to be held in Madrid, for a year due to Corona. India was scheduled to play the World Group One match in Finland in September. Now, this match will be held in March or September 2021.

Players get infected due to Adria Tour event:

The Adria Tour was organized in Croatia which has put many players in trouble together. Most of the players who had played in this event were tested positive for COVID-19. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic said that he had been found positive in the Coronavirus investigation.

Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki also tested positive for COVID-19:

Ivanisevic was recently on the Adaria Tour in Serbia and Croatia. Djokovic, his wife and three other players were also found to be Corona positive who were on the tour. So far Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki have tested positive for COVID-19.

For all this, British player Dan Evans has blamed Djokovic for organizing the tournament. He said, "It is a good thing to have a charity tournament, but it had to follow all the guidelines including social distancing. It's not a joke. "Last week, a photo went viral on social media. Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Marin Silich were seen playing basketball alongside Dimitrov.
