Israel Hamas Announces Ceasefire to End 11-Day of Conflict

After a bruising 11-day war, Israel and Hamas announced a ceasefire on Thursday. The war has caused widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip. So far 230 people have died in this conflict. These include women and children in the Gaza Strip. About 220 people died here. Thousands of people celebrated in Gaza City after a ceasefire came into place.

At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that the Israeli security cabinet approved on Thursday night the Egyptian proposal to stop the ongoing conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The decision came after a 2.5-hour discussion and was "unanimously" approved by the ministers. Meanwhile, the meeting was attended by the Chief of Defense Staff, the Chief of Internal Security and the Chief of the Intelligence Agency.

Meanwhile, the United Nations and US President Joe Biden welcomed the much-awaited development. Biden said, "Palestinians and Israelis equally deserve to live safely, security and to enjoy equal measures of freedom, prosperity, and democracy."
