Is WhatsApp and Telegram Lacking Security?

There has been a big case of security defaults in instant messaging app voices and telegram, due to which hackers can hear, see, and share your private phone, video and voice memos in Whatsapp and Telegram. Not only that, he can also tamper with it. The problem has been addressed by cyber Security firm Symantec. Symantec researcher's report has been claimed in the media file jacking that an Android version of this popular app can be banned.

If this happens then hackers can make changes and misuse of users' personal data. Researchers have warned that hackers can use these information taken from WhatsApp and telegram for both their personal gain and bullying.

Both messaging offers App and Two and Encryption Security. Which is designed to hide the identity of the sender and save the message of people with the look of hackers. But they work only to a limit. Researchers say that it provides fake security senses on WhatsApp and telegram.

Researchers wrote in a blog post, 'It is generally believed that tampering and privacy from the new generation instant messaging app content can fight with danger.' It said that 'End to End Encryption is an effective mechanism for the integrity of communication (no one does not read the conversation of two people), but this is not enough. If hackers are already present in the code, then it is ineffective.'

The problems the researchers have caught, provide various actors a way to access and tamper with WhatsApp and telegram media files. If these difficulties are used, then this can be a big problem. Researchers have said that its huge results can be seen, in which a politician or a large official of a company can be photographed with tampering.

This feature is available by default on WhatsApp, while in telegram, this feature comes into effect when you enable the Save-to-Gallery feature. Symantec's report says that there is no security mechanism available to protect its users' media files in any app. Google's next Android version i.e. Android Q will see some changes to prevent such security defaults. With the help of which the app will save their users from trapping in such a trap.
