The Taliban in Central Asia

On 9 March, a report was published in the Indian Express that India has finally joined the list of six countries to decide on the roadmap being prepared for peace in Afghanistan. For the last six months, India was constantly trying for this. It is said that Russia is concerned about the growing influence of the Taliban because it fears that the influence of the Taliban in Central Asia may encourage Islamic extremism.

Russia suggested the way

According to the Indian Express report, the US suggested this new mechanism, while the plan suggested by Russia did not include India in the list of these countries. Sources had told The Indian Express that in the midst of growing closeness between Russia and China, the method suggested by Russia was to put Russia, China, America, Pakistan, and Iran on the negotiating table.

An official told the newspaper that this was done at the behest of Pakistan, which does not want India to be a part of the roadmap being prepared for peace in the region. But India had been working on this for a long time and this India approached all the important characters in Afghanistan and beyond so that they could be a part of this table of talks. However, Russia rejected the Indian Express report.

The democratic values

Now being a part of this team, India hopes that it will play an important role in setting rules especially regarding terrorism, violence, women's rights, and democratic values. India believes that it wants an Afghanistan-led, Afghanistan-controlled, and Afghan-owned system, but the ground reality in Afghanistan has been such that this has not happened here.
