Bharatpur Superintendent of Police Haider Ali Zaidi is a friend of bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, whose death on Wednesday shocked everyone. Zaidi had studied with Irrfan in school and college and he used to be her neighbour too. Recalling the past, Zaidi said, "I have seen him struggling during his difficult days – he used to travel in local trains with empty stomach of Mumbai and slept many times without eating".
Irrfan's mother also died on Saturday.
Talking about her, Zaidi says, "She wanted Irrfan to leave the film industry to become a school teacher in Jaipur for a comfortable life and live in his ancestral house to spend his further life".
Zaidi further says, "Irrfan was a down to earth human being despite achieving many heights in life … he often used to talk to me".
Zaidi further said that Khan had a master's degree in Urdu, while Zaidi did his MA in economics.
Zaidi said that Irrfan was very helpful by nature. The police officer also recalled an account of how Irrfan saved his life by pushing him when he accidentally touched a live wire of electricity while returning from school.
While crying, Zaidi continued, "It looks like he will still call me today and we will discuss old things again".
Zaidi finally says, "I couldn't even be a part of his last trip".
