You can book only 6 tickets in one month from IRCTC's website www.irctc.co.in. If you want to book more than 6 tickets, then, you need to link your Aadhaar number. Once you link your Aadhaar Card, you will be able to book 12 tickets every month. No verification will be done on booking 6 tickets in a month.
If you have to book more train tickets than this, then you have to register the Aadhaar. In order to book more than 6 tickets, any passengers traveling in the journey can also get the Aadhaar validated. At the time of booking, also add the Aadhaar-verified passenger from the passenger list.
The process for adding this is explained further. The IRCTC website has the login account, which will be validated on the Aadhaar of booking 6 tickets. If your IRCTC website has an account then this process is very easy. Here's the whole process.
1. You'll have to log in on IRCTC's website. Go there in My Account section. In this, you will see the option of linking the Aadhaar.
2. A page will open before you click on it. In it, you type the name of the Aadhaar card. With this, type the Aadhaar number or virtual ID.
3. Click the checkbox. Then, press the Send OTP button.
4. An OTP will come on your Aadhaar registered mobile number You write this OTP.
5. Then click the Verify OTP button.
6. Your Aadhaar information will be available. Then click the Update button.
7. Once done, a pop-up window will open in front of you. In which the message will be used to get the confirmation message. After this, close this window.
8. Open the IRCTC website www.irctc.co.in and log in again.
To check the status of the Aadhaar link, go to My Account. You will know the linking status by clicking on Link Aadhaard Aadhaar here.
If you have to verify the Aadhaar of any traveler involved in the trip, then login to the IRCTC website. Go to My Profile section under My account. In this you will get the option of the ad / modifier master list.
In it, you fill in all the traveler details. If the name, birth date, gender, seat preference, dinner attendance, Senior Citizen's Concession, then fill out the details of the ID card. Then press the submit button. After this, the passenger will be added to the master list. You can check it by going to the passenger list. You can also validate the Aadhaar of this passenger.
