New Delhi: Indian Railways' catering and tourism arm IRCTC announced the launch of the revamped Buddhist Circuit Tourist Train on Saturday. The train will cover destinations including Delhi, Bodhgaya, Nalanda/Rajgir, Varanasi/Sarnath, Lumbini, Kushinagar, Sravasti, and Agra. The tickets can be booked through online website www.irctcbuddhisttrain.com.
IRCTC tweeted today saying, "Commence your pilgrimage with a revamped Buddhist Circuit Tourist Train with upgraded amenities and interiors. With new features and add-ons, your journey will be a joyous pilgrimage laden with comfort and style.
The package includes journey by exclusive air-conditioned train as per the itinerary, road transport by AC coaches, sightseeing as per the itinerary, accommodation as per the itinerary, meals, English/Hindi speaking tour escort, entrance fees of monuments/sightseeing trips as per the itinerary and travel insurance.
The package will not include India and Nepal visa fees, items of personal nature, e.g. laundry, medicine, alcoholic drinks etc., road transfers to and from Delhi-Safdarjung railway station, hotel stay in Delhi before & after the trip, air ticket, visa charges etc., fees for still/flash video camera at the monuments and other places.
IRCTC is offering flat 50% discount on companion travel on the Buddhist circuit tourist train. Passengers can pay full price for the 1st passenger and avail half-price discount on accompanying passenger. According to the IRCTC website, the train will depart on December 8 and December 22.
The discount is applicable to all nationalities. Discount is subject to berth availability and will be valid till the date of the departure. As per the offer, on booking of the first adult (also Child paying Adult Cost) at full cost, the second adult (also child paying the adult cost) traveling together will get 50% discount on the published adult package price.
If two people have booked berths together earlier in 10 per cent discount promo offer then, they have an option to avail the additional offer of 'pay for one and your companions pays 50% only'. The promotional offer is not transferable and will be available on first come first serve basis.
People who have already booked the berths with advance/full payment before the date of announcement of the offer will not be able to avail this offer.
