The mini-auction for the 14th season of the IPL may take place in the third week of February. Earlier, it was reported that IPL auctions will be held on 11th February. According to the media reports, it can now be postponed by a week.
The IPL Governing Council will announce the dates for auction in the next 2-3 days. This time, 8 franchisees will have Rs 196.6 crore to spend in the auction. According to a senior BCCI official, “IPL auctions will now be held in the 3rd week of February. The final date, venue will be confirmed in the next few days.”
Players can submit forms by February 4:
BCCI has also announced that players, whose contracts have ended or want to participate in the auction, will also have to submit the form by February 4. According to the BCCI, players whose contracts are over and want to be part of the auction again will have to submit the online form by 5 pm on February 4. Also, the original form has to be sent to the board by 12 February.

All Franchises have 196.6 crores to spend at IPL auction:
On Wednesday, all 8 teams have released the list of Retained and Released players. The franchises retained 139 players for a total value of Rs 483.39 crore. At the same time, 57 players worth 196.6 crores were released by their franchise. That is, now all 8 franchises will have Rs 196.6 crore to spend in IPL auction 2021.
