Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 8 wickets in the 40th match of the 13th season of IPL. Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan gave a target of 155 runs. In reply, Hyderabad won the match by scoring 156 runs for 2 wickets in 18.1 overs.
Manish Pandey scored the highest unbeaten 83 runs for the team. Vijay Shankar scored an unbeaten 52 runs in the IPL, his third fifty. Both shared a partnership of 140 runs for the third wicket. Manish Pandey was also adjudged ‘Man of the Match’. RR’s Jofra Archer got 2 wickets. With this win, Hyderabad has moved up to 5th place in the points table.
Jason holder bowled brilliantly:
Earlier, Jason Holder, playing his first match in the season, stopped Rajasthan from scoring big. Rajasthan scored 154 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Holder took 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Holder also dismissed Uthappa.
RR’s Sanju Samson scored 36 and Ben Stokes scored 30 runs for Rajasthan. Apart from this, Ryan Parag was out for 20 runs. Apart from the holder, Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar got one wicket each.
RR scored 47 runs in power-play:
Rajasthan did not have a good start. Robin Uthappa and Ben Stokes started the innings for RR. Uthappa was run out after scoring 19 runs. Stokes and Sanju Samson then took over the innings and moved the score to 47 in the power-play.

In the previous match, Rajasthan defeated Hyderabad by 5 wickets. Rahul Tewatia and Ryan Parag had snatched the match from Hyderabad on their own.
