Cricket World Cup 2019 starts from May 30 against England and South Africa. This time the Indian cricket team is a strong contender to win the tournament. The team will start its battle from the match against South Africa on June 5. Team India has a tremendous record in Birmingham's Edgebaston, on which the team will play six of its nine matches in the Round-robin league. India have played ten ODIs so far and have won seven.

India has won five consecutive matches in Edgebaston since 2013, in which ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and 2017 respectively include eight wickets against Pakistan and two big wins of 124 runs respectively. However, in the World Cup, the team will face hosts England (June 30) and Bangladesh (July 2). India have played four matches against England in this ground, out of which they have won three matches. Bangladesh had also defeated India by nine wickets in 2017 on this ground.

Under the captainship of Virat Kohli, Team India will play their first match against South Africa on June 5 in Southampton's Rose Bowl. India's record on this field includes a win and two losses in three matches. India's only win on this ground was registered against Kenya in 2004. On the same ground, India and Afghanistan will meet on June 22.

The match between India and Pakistan will take place in Manchester's Old Trafford on June 16.

Five-time world champion Australia will fight against India on 9th June at the Oval ground. Here India has played 15 ODIs. Of these, India has won only five. The 1999 World Cup was held on this ground between India and Australia in which the Australian team won by 77 runs.

The Indian team will play against New Zealand in Trent Bridge on June 13 and from Sri Lanka on July 6 in Headingley. In Nottingham, the Indian team has won three out of seven matches with three losses. In Headingley, Team India has won three out of nine matches. India recorded the last win on the field in 2007.
