Indian Women’s Boxing Coach Rafael Bergamasco Stranded at Indira Gandhi Stadium due to Lockdown

Indian women's boxing team coach, Rafael Bergamasco, is stranded alone at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Campus due to the announced lockdown in the country due to the Coronavirus. He is from Italy. There is no other person in the entire stadium except Bergamasco. Rafael is having trouble talking to his wife battling cancer in Italy because the Wi-Fi of the hostel of the IG stadium has deteriorated. Rafael is constantly conveying his position to the Boxing Federation of India and SAI, but both are unable to help.

Actually, Rafael is stuck in the hostel of IG Stadium for the last 15-16 days. After returning from Olympic qualifying in Amman (Jordan), he was sent to self-isolation at IG Stadium. They were also not allowed to leave the room. Food is provided to them from outside the room. He has requested SAI to at least get the hostel Wi-Fi fixed so that he can talk to his wife battling cancer. Although his mobile has internet, its speed is so low that he cannot even do his daily work.

The problem is that there is neither a domestic area nor a market around the IG Stadium, from where Rafael can get some items of need. SAI had given him the option of shifting to the hostel of Nehru Stadium, but now orders have been withdrawn to convert Nehru Stadium to the isolation center. If we talk about fixing Wi-Fi, it cannot be fixed because of lockdown.
