The country's rising tennis star Sumit Nagal became the first player from India to win an international tournament during the Corona era. He won the PSD Bank Nord Open Trophy in Germany. Nagal is currently India's highest-seeded player.

Sumit defeated Germany's Daniel Masur in finals:

He won the match against second seed Germany's Daniel Masur very easily in the finals of the Pinneberg Tennis Club. In the first set, Sumit did not have to work hard to win but in the second set, he faced a tough competition against German player. He won the final match by 6-1, 6–3 and won the title.

Sumit happy with the title win:

He said, 'It was nice to return here after four months. It is good to play in this tournament right now. This win increased the confidence and the experience of playing here and it was also different from the rest of the tournament.

Special arrangements due to corona infection:

He said, the experience of this tournament was different compared to all the tournaments I had played before. The players' temperature was checked and they had to wash their hands before going to court. Everyone had to stay at least two meters away. This is something that you have to remember again and again.
