Indian Railways: Railways will Add a Third AC Additional Coach by Removing the Sleeper Coach

The Kolkata-Udaipur weekly train running from main line via Asansol, Jasidih can also be back on track. Railways have not officially announced it yet, but departmental preparations have started. The Dhanbad-Alleppey Express will reduce its sleeper coach.  Railways will add a third AC additional coach by removing the sleeper.  East Central Rail has already announced this several months ago.

The Dhanbad-Alleppey Express, along with Rajendra Nagar-Durg South Bihar Express and Barauni-Ernakulam RaptiSagar Express, will also be upgraded to third AC coaches by reducing sleepers.  According to the information issued by the railway, this change was to be made from April 23 in Alleppey Express which opened from Dhanbad and April 26 in the train that opened from Alleppey.  Meanwhile, it could not be implemented due to the trains being closed since 22 March.  Now the new system can be effective once the train opens.

Previously Commissioner Said that Railways will have to Bear their own Revenue Expenditure

The commissioner's letter said, "As you know, the government has ordered that the railways will have to bear their own revenue expenditure including pension.  This year's targeted earnings are likely to be adversely affected by the covid-19. "The commissioner said that all zones of the railways will cut down on employee expenses and make them efficient in many tasks, review contracts, reduce power consumption."  It has been suggested to do and cut expenses in administrative and other areas.

Apart from this, it has also been suggested to ban the creation of new posts.  "Posts created during the last two years should be reviewed and if appointments are not made then recruitment can be stopped by reviewing them," the commissioner said in a letter.  Apart from this, employees can be made competent in workshops.
